The pavilions are made of natural materials, with minimum impact on the environment.
Staff of the river spa and the guesthouse are employed from the nearby village.

2D1N Bintan: "Pondok" @ Mutiara Beach Guesthouse
Date: 17&18/03/2012
Pondok was basic but very clean and spacious! Complete with ceiling fan, mosquito nets and coils, candles and 4 mattresses. Toilets/bathrooms-are located away from the huts in typical "kampong" (ie, village) style.
Mutiara provides what we need and the perfect environment for a real break away from modern and hurried urban life and the ideal destination to get back to basics and rediscover the joys of kampong life.
The 'Pondoks' : a simple accomodation surrounded by coconut trees and a nice white sand beach
