On our way to Sharjah Desert Park and we saw this.........monument.
This monument was constructed when Sharjah was elected and chosen to be the Arab culture capital for 1998. The monument depicts a huge arrow pointing to the sky and was publicly unveiled on 3rd May 1998. It is located on interchange 8 on the Sharjah – Dhaid road near to the Natural History museum.
The monument was constructed on an area of 3,600 square meter, with a height of 28 meters, on a granite base of 500 square meters; on top of it another smaller base was built. The memorial is constructed on a hill on Sharjah – Dhaid in order to be visible to motorists traveling from afar. Lighting has been installed to illuminate the monument at night.
