6D Bali : Land of Peace and Our driver cum tour advisor

Date: 7-13/6/2012

Bali is a beautiful island famous for its scenic beauty, dynamic culture, and the people are humble, nice, and culturally rich. Located just south of the equator, tropical Bali has a hot, wet season from November-March and a cool, dry one from May-September.

Bali is a big island. It takes approximately 5 hours to travel by car from the southern part of the island to the North. Bali is thick with terrible traffic on its tiny roads. Most Bali people believe in Balinese Hinduism. The Balinese believe that everything has a soul, even a river or a tree and that the forces of nature are something you hardly have any control over. They also believe the spirits are everywhere so you’ll find Balinese people making offerings in front of their shops, on crossroads, on cars, inside the many temples and even on the beach.

We had Fredy, a very dedicated and knowledgeable driver + tour advisor with us during our 6 days trip in Bali. Fredy, in his early 20, was born and bred in Bali, speak fluent English. Because of Fredy, we learned about the Balinese tradition, lifestyle and culture, eat Balinese authentic food, visited those not to be missed tourist attraction and he even took us to visit some tremendous and less touristic places.

He always came on time, kept in contact regularly, and did not charge an additional fee even when the tour lasted longer than it should have. When we asked him to bring us to cheap but good places to eat, he brought us to his usual eating place and it was clean and the food was so good! He drove safely, stayed by our side, interpreted for us, made sure we got fair prices, answered all (and I mean all) our questions, took photos for us, and never got irritated when we would change our minds. All in all, we are very grateful to Fredy for making our trip so enjoyable.
