Musadam, Oman Trip(3) - Explore Khasab

Part 1 Journey to Khasab
Part 2 Fjords of Musadam

Date: 28 Mar 2009

Musandam is a peninsular and Khasab is the Head Quarter. There are number of castles forts and towers in this area. The most famous one is the Khasab Fort, others places of interestwill be Old & New souq, Harbour, Bassa Beach, Pre historic rock carving in Tawi village near Qada and Traditional Mountain houses.

Some of lovely low-rise house,
designed in the typical Omani architectural style
Our breakfast
After breakfast we went to explore Khasab

Khasab Old Souk & New Souk area
Khasab Mosque under renovation

Road to Khawr A'Najd
(the only one of Musandam’s fjords that is accessible by road.
A steep track leads to the brow of a hill,
twisting and turning as it goes eventually arriving
at the top for a panoramic view over the fjord)

Acacia trees along the track lead to the mountain
Some part of the track flooded due to
the heavy rain for the last few days
We decide that we will be better off
going back the way we came
from rather than to keep going
Stopped at Wadi Mawa village for photo shooting
Stone house blend into the cliffs

Next...Khasab Fort
