Bought this pork trotter last week
I cook it for dinner last night
J love braised Pork Trotter
- Bring half a pot of water to a boil. Put in trotter and blanch for 3 to 4 minutes.
- Remove and leave the trotter aside for a short while. While it is still hot, brush it with dark soy sauce.
- Place the trotter and all the ingredients (dark soy sauce, mushrooms, cinnamon stick, star annise, cloves, young ginger, nam yee, oyster sauce, light soy sauce red dates and spring onion), including the seasoning (salt, sugar, pepper, water), into a pressure cooker. Cover and bring to boil over medium high heat.
- After that, lower the heat and set the timer for 25 to 30 minutes.
- Release the pressure and remove the lid. Add thickening (corn flour & water), then dish out and serve immediately.

Hello Agnes, WOW! You made this dish! I love it! Can I come over for some? Ha ha.
My wife too makes it once awhile.
Gosh, you not only an attractive lady, but a gourmet cook too. Bet thats how you won your husband's heart, huh?
My wife, old days knew of my rascal days with girlfriends practically every state.
But she discreetly learned from my friends my favourite foods, and having a Nonya mother, she not a Nonya, became a hi-breed Nonya instead and learned from her Nonya and Malay friends how to cook Nonya dishes.
Thus, she won my heart, I lost my Bachelor's degree, and she won her Master's. ha ha.
And Agnes, allow me to say this to you....
There is no spectacle on earth more appealing than that of a beautiful woman like you in the act of cooking dinner for someone she loves.
Happy new year, Agnes.
You have a wonderful New Year, best regards always, Lee.
Hi Agnes, I was about to check out of your page when noticed your previous posting re "every colour has a meaning". Beautiful posting, Agnes. Love it.
Old days, I never phone a SYT (sweet young thing) for a date. Instead I will send a bouquet of orchids and invite her for a dinner date.
Then making sure following morning, I send a bouquet of yellow roses with words, "thank you for a lovely evening".
Not sure you read my previous posting, "Conclusion, Opening a faded letter". (start is "A faded letter from the past"..how a letter without my address, only my name found me here in Canada, after 30 years.)
This is a 19 episode story of a beautiful matured lady who came to love a man half her age....me.
And I sure made my florist retire early too with her, ha ha.
One time I sent her a bouquet of roses, 12 red roses, BUT! Only 11 were real ones, and 1 a fake rose made of silk, and my words to her, "Irene, I will love you till the last one dies".
Have a nice day, Agnes, Lee.
[u.lee] hi lee, so happy to hear that u like this dish...you can come and join us for dinner if you are free. i love cooking but i'm not good in baking...tell u a secret..i never used Microwave oven before...and my mum never have it at home too.
Agnes, u can really cook la...so envy!!!!
For the pork dish, try adding a 'dash' of cooking wine or brandy before the boiling stops for the extra flavour.
Don't worry! You won't get drunk with this dish.
The alcohol in the wine or brandy has a boiling point of 78C, so only the 'flavour' is retained with all the alcohol gone at the cooking temperature of 100C!
