Pancake

A nice plain pancake you may serve with jam, honey or a scoop of ice-cream

Sift flour into a mixing bowl. Add salt, egg and milk. Stir until mixture is smooth and free from lumps and beat with a whisk into a smooth batter. Leave aside, covered, to rest the batter for at least 30 minutes before using.

Heat a bit of margarine in a small non-stick frying pan. Pour a ladle of batter to thinly cover bottom of pan. Tilt the pan to swirl the batter around evenly.

Cook over medium heat for a minute or until the upper half of the pancake starts to dry. Flip over and cook the other side. Remove pancake onto a plate and cover with a clean tea-towel to keep pancakes warm and soft until ready to serve.

I love pancake...yummy..yummy

Hi Agnes,

I have been following your blog. Nice and interesting about your life in Abu Dhabi. Do you find difficult to adapt to a real Muslim country?

I'm a M'sian living in The Netherloands. Married to a Dutch and I have 2 boys. Been here since 2001.

About to keep your pancakes warm, the best way is to put the whole plates of pancakes on top of a pot of boiling water. The Dutch over here consumes pancakes as hotmeals. My kids do get pancakes every 2 w/ends.

Regards,
Lannie Loke

Hi Lannie

Thanks for visiting my blog! Life in here is not much different from Malaysia but we feel safety to stay here than M'sia. Of course we can't drink beer in public and I also try not to wear too sexy in public too.

Ooo...you kids love pancakes....my kids love it too. Next time will try you ways to keep it warm.
